Technical Sales Engineer – CH001 (NAS)

HUBER+SUHNER Polatis seeks an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join our team focusing on the growth opportunities in our NAS (China, HK, Korea, Japan) territory. Ideally we are looking for an individual with strong technical skills combined with proven sales experience in the service provider and telecom markets. This is a key role managing a major portion of our sales cycle in which the technical aspects of the solution are extremely important

Responsibilities:

Reporting to, and working in partnership with the Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development, the Technical Sales Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
  • Exceed territory's goals for revenue, unit sales, backlog, profit, and customer satisfaction
  • Qualify sales leads to ensure that the technical aspects of the company's solution align with customer requirements to ensure that sales resources are utilized efficiently
  • Provide the technical knowledge and support to move customers through the sales cycle
  • Perform presentations and demonstrations of overall solution functionality
  • Present customized solutions within the customer environment
  • Interface with product development team during the sales cycle to ensure that customer requirements can be met
  • Communicate to the VP Sales prospect status on an ongoing basis including issues and opportunities
  • Identify opportunities for further business within the customer base
  • Build relationships with technical and management contacts within customer and prospect base
  • Educate customer base on Polatis product roadmap and strategies and provide client oriented feedback
  • Key contributor in the development of features needed to acquire customers.

Personal Specification:

  • Motivated by applying technical knowledge and sales experience within the customer environment
  • Demonstrated success in a technical sales environment within the optical communications space including:
    • Solid technical grasp of optical concepts and applications within the communications space
    • In depth understanding of the Optical market within Service Provider and Telecom markets
  • Strong technical and business knowledge of the Telecom, Wireless, Cable/MSO, Data Center, Cloud Computing markets
  • Track record of successful consultative selling (S/W and H/W solutions) in the Service Provider and Telecom markets
  • Extensive experience in developing new accounts and growing existing accounts.
  • Experience in:
    • Launching new products into the territory
    • Opening and developing new territories
    • Developing partnerships in multi-state territories.
    • Giving technical demonstrations and presentations.
  • Ability to leverage strong knowledge of applications to sell at all levels within a
  • Service Provider and Telecommunications customers
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to understand positioning and developing
  • business cases/solutions for revenue opportunities
  • Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to manage
  • workload and pipeline effectively
  • Highly competitive and ambitious with the ability to rise and excel at new challenges
