Planning Manager - OPSUK006 (Cambridge, UK)

H+S Polatis are looking for a Planning Manager to join our rapidly growing business to help drive forward the use of the MRP system within manufacturing. Past experience of production and materials control is a must, coupled with strong knowledge of MRP / ERP systems. The successful candidate will become a focal point of our close knit team and contribute to the successful growth of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation and ownership of the master production schedule (MPS) based the inputs of the production, sales and materials teams
  • Provide the MPS to the production teams and monitor performance.
  • Update MPS weekly to meet previous week output and business requirements
  • Ensure MRP purchase requests and works order recommendations are correct to MPS
  • Working with the production teams, monitor and maintain production WO’s in MRP system, ensure data accuracy and carry out bookings
  • Advise the business of falling behind plan and risks to customer deliverables
  • Monitor and analyse works orders cost variances to standard cost
  • Improve processed and train users within production teams to take on day to day responsibility for bookings as system matures
  • Work with sites to ensure processes there are followed correctly
  • Understand product multi-level BOM’s and ensure correct BOM’s are used within MRP works orders
  • Day to day operation of MRP system within multiple site production areas
  • Ensure correct production build times and loaded into MRP
  • Key figure in the roll out and further development of our current MRP system, 123 Insight, and the future transfer to corporate SAP ERP system
  • Work within the operations team on continuous improvement programs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Production planning & materials control within an electronic or mechanical
  • assembly manufacturing environment
  • Numerate and accurate with good attention to detail
  • Above average use of Excel & strong analytical skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task
  • Resourceful with good negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of business

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Knowledge of SAP and or 123 Insight
