Testing Core Routers at Avici
DirectLight products continue to demonstrate strong
value for its customers in network emulation and test. When
Avici needed to develop a capability for more effectively
testing its core router products, it chose the DirectLight IG
optical switch. DirectLight is installed in Avici’s network
emulation testbed for its advanced TSR platform, and is used
as part of a capability to reconfigure network elements and
test critical self-healing features of its RAPID™
technology.

Lucent Technologies Manufacturing
Operations
The DirectLight IG optical switch delivers
instrumentation grade switching, VOA, and NIST-traceable
calibrated power meter functionality to users in the
manufacturing test automation area. Lucent has recently chosen
DirectLight for use in its manufacturing operations,
incorporated as part of a test automation station for its
optical networking products.

OFC 2005: Continuum, Agilent & EdenTree
partner for remote test demo
Continuum Photonics, a supplier of
advanced photonic switch products, Agilent Technologies, a
global leader in communications test equipment, and EdenTree
Technologies, a provider of test automation solutions, today
announced their plan to demonstrate an integrated optical test
solution at OFC/NFOEC 2005. Attendees in Anaheim will be able
to visually identify and change test equipment configurations
in Boston, experience automated test, and interpret test data
results remotely. The demonstration will take place in
Continuum’s booth #2233, during the exhibition hours Tuesday
March 8 through Thursday March 10.
