Dr. M. Niel Ransom - Principal, Ransomshire Associates (Board Member)

Dr. Ransom is principal of Ransomshire Associates, an advisory firm he founded in 2005.

Before launching his advisory firm, Dr. Ransom was worldwide CTO of Alcatel, where he was responsible for corporate research, corporate strategy, intellectual property and R&D investment. Prior to that, he held various senior management positions at Alcatel including General Manager of its access and metro optical business in North America. Before his tenure at Alcatel, Dr. Ransom led the Advanced Technology Systems Center at BellSouth; and also led various development and applied research organizations in voice and data switching at Bell Laboratories.

Dr. Ransom is Chairman of Teknovus, Inc., and serves on the Boards of AMCC, CoreOptics, and kbro (the leading CATV operator in Taiwan). He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, BSEE and MSEE degrees from Old Dominion University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
