HUBER+SUHNER, the global leader in all-optical switching solutions, is proud to announce its continued participation as a Silver Contributor in the SCinet network at SC25, the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis, held this year in St. Louis, Missouri. As in previous years, HUBER+SUHNER has supplied a high radix POLATIS optical circuit switch (OCS) to support the SCinet infrastructure, enabling dynamic, high-bandwidth connectivity across the conference’s demanding network environment.
SCinet is the world’s most powerful temporary network, built annually by a global team of volunteers and industry partners to support the SC conference, and is again expected to break the previous year’s record for total transmission bandwidth. This year, the network integrates cutting-edge technologies from over 40 vendors, including the POLATIS® Series 6000 192x192-port OCS. The switch plays a central role in SCinet, enabling flexible, low- latency optical cross-connects between hundreds of high-speed links used in live demonstrations, experiments, and collaborative research.
The POLATIS switch deployed at SCinet features ultra-low insertion loss, dark fiber switching capability and embedded SDN control, making it ideal for dynamic environments where speed, reliability, and flexibility are paramount.
In parallel with the POLATIS role in SCinet, another POLATIS OCS features as a key component of the dynamic photonic fabric in Drut Technologies’ next-generation photonic- native infrastructure on booth #5423. Drut leverages POLATIS photonic switching to
disaggregate and virtualize compute, storage, and acceleration resources across the data center, enabling real-time resource composition and reallocation.
2025 marks the 25 th anniversary of POLATIS all-optical switching, a milestone that underscores HUBER+SUHNER’s legacy of innovation in optical circuit switching. From test lab automation to network monitoring to AI data centers, POLATIS switches are trusted by
leading organizations worldwide for their reliability, scalability, and performance.
At SC25, HUBER+SUHNER is continuing to demonstrate its commitment to advancing photonic technologies that enable the future of high-performance computing. The company’s continued involvement in SCinet and its partnership with Drut highlight the growing importance of optical switching in modern data center architectures.
