HUBER+SUHNER Polatis i-Series Product Family Distinguished in Lightwave
Innovation Reviews for Network Test Lab Applications
BOSTON, MA and CAMBRIDGE, UK – March 21, 2018 -- HUBER+SUHNER Polatis, the performance leader in all-optical switching, has been recognized in the 2018 Lightwave Innovation Reviews program as an innovative product in the Lab/Product Equipment category of the competition.
The Polatis i-Series all-optical switch product line was designed specifically for the
stringent fiber layer connectivity requirements of network test lab environments. The i-
Series products include unique features for the test lab, like dark fiber switching,
integrated variable optical attenuation, optical power meters, and a programmable
shutter feature. Use of the switches reduces opex and capex while providing greater
test coverage, faster response, and improved accuracy.
"The i-Series product line, and our investment in specific, important, and hard to engineer features, demonstrates our commitment to supporting the network test lab.
We are honored to be recognized by Lightwave in this market segment that demands a
higher level of performance and optical specifications," said Gerald Wesel, president
and general manager at HUBER+SUHNER Polatis.
Presented annually by Lightwave, the Lightwave Innovation Reviews program
distinguishes top products and solutions available within the optical networking industry
as determined by a stellar panel of third-party judges. Judges include industry
executives and analysts from a wide variety of service providers, technology developers,
industry analysts, and journalists.
"On behalf of the Lightwave Innovation Reviews, I would like to congratulate our
finalists," said Lightwave Group Publisher Christine Shaw. "This competitive, unbiased program celebrates the most original and innovative products in the optical networking
industry." The Innovation Reviews are judged based on originality, innovation, positive
impact on the customer, novelty of approach, and cost-effectiveness.
The Lightwave Innovation Reviews judges cited the i-Series product as being "A very
useful product with good optical specifications."
